The Beale Street Music Festival was held at the newly renovated Tom Lee Park in Memphis, TN on May 5-7, 2023. The renovations to the park include newly paved walkways and numerous seating options. There is a large canopy in the center of the park that provides shade over a large seating area for the concert goers. Although the park is only a little over a hundred yards wide, it seems much more spacious than that and allows for easy navigation between stages. There were three main stages in Tom Lee Park and a smaller stage at Handy Park that offered a more intimate setting for the band and its fans. Each venue had ample room for fans to stand directly in front of the stage or to stretch out blankets and chill while the artists performed.
This year’s lineup included more than 60 phenomenal acts from the rock, pop, alternative, R&B, hip hop, indie, folk, reggae, country and blues genres. The wide-ranging lineup appeals to a diverse group of spectators which gives the festival an inclusive and eclectic feel making it possible for festival goers to listen to everything from Earth, Wind & Fire to 311, Live to Ziggy Marley, or The Roots to Greta Van Fleet.
The Beale Street Music Festival was blessed by Mother Nature and completed the three-day event without a drop of rain. The wonderful weather, paired with an amazing lineup of bands, provided the perfect combination for fans to enjoy themselves and enjoy the festival’s vibe. The incredible lineup and fluid schedule ensured festival goers had amazing music available to them no matter what part of the park they found themselves.
That’s all folks. The Beale Street Music Festival 2023 was an incredible success and provided Memphis with an event to be proud of. The organizers put together an amazing lineup of musicians and will have their work cut out for them to top it. No doubt, they will accept the challenge and next year’s Beale Street Music Festival will be something to look forward to.
